Miracle Face Cream

Today, I'm mixing up some Miracle Face Cream.  I sure hope it is all the name promises!

Miracle Face Cream Recipe:
1/2 cup Pure Coconut Oil
15 drops Lavender Essential Oil
15 drops Melaleuca (aka Tea Tree) Essential Oil
15 drops Frankincense Essential Oil

Mix all ingredients in a glass jar.  I melted the Coconut Oil in the microwave to make mixing with the essential oils easier.

Can't wait until it solidifies to try it!  Wish me luck!

Homemade Oven Cleaner

So, it's a Saturday night and what better to do than make your oven cleaner and clean your oven, right?!?!  Well, I'm really into essential oils for my health, for relaxation and now I'm trying my hand at cleaning supplies.

Do you hate the smell of the aerosol oven cleaners?  It has to be absolutely horrible for your system to ingest the smell into your lungs.

Here's what you'll need:

Here's the recipe if you want to try it at home:
1/2 cup Kosher Salt
1/4 cup Washing Soda
1 box (16 oz.)  Baking Soda
Scant 1/4 cup Water
3/4 cup Vinegar
10 drops Thyme Essential Oil - I didn't have Thyme so I used Basil
10 drops Lemon or Lemongrass Essential Oil

Before Cleaning

Follow these steps:
1 - Remove oven racks
2 - Preheat oven to 250 degrees for 15 minutes, then turn off
3 - Mix the salt, washing soda and baking soda with the water to make a paste.  Mix this when immediately ready to apply in oven.  If you make ahead, it will turn to cement.
4 - Rub paste to inside of the warm oven.

To reiterate step #3, do not make the paste ahead of time.  I made it while I was waiting on the oven to warm up and it turned hard.  I added more water and when it hit the warm oven, it helped to soften it, too.  I wonder if warm water would have helped?  I'll try that next time.

Let's continue....
5 - Close the oven door and let sit for 20 - 30 minutes
6 - Mix vinegar and oils in a spray bottle
7 - Spray the inside of the oven  with the vinegar and wipe clean
8 - Rinse with water

After

It gave my oven a new glossy look!   The spots at the bottom are stains and the bit of charred food wiped right off.

Please comment below if you enjoyed this post and if you try it, let me know how it turns out.

Keep watching for more recipes and fun stuff using essential oils.
